Development: Giving Opportunities
The IU School of Optometry depends upon the generosity of alumni, friends, and corporations to maintain its high standard of education, patient care, and research. You can make a difference! There are many ways you can help.
Type of Gifts
Cash or Cash Equivalent
We greatly appreciate the cash donations we receive from individuals and companies throughout the year and during our annual solicitation of alumni and friends. This is an immediate help for such things as scholarships, building renovations, equipment, and special projects.
Gifts-in-kind
Gifts of equipment, no-charge loaned equipment, reduced pricing, two-for-one purchases, and related programs greatly aid in the functioning of our eye care centers. Such generosity allows us to maintain current, state-of-the-art equipment and provide a quality clinical education for our students.
Endowed gifts
Individuals may contribute to endowed funds through cash or cash equilavent gifts, gifts of property, and placing the IU School of Optometry in estate plans or wills. Endowed funds are invested and then a portion of the interest is used to fund scholarships, awards, research, professorships, etc.
