VISION SCIENCE PROGRAM
The Indiana University School of Optometry offers Masters of Science in Philosphy, Doctor of Philosophy and Combined Degree programs in Vision Science.
The Master of Science (M.S.) is offered by the University Graduate School in conjunction with the School of Optometry, this degree programs in vision science is designed primarily for those who wish to devote themselves to teaching and research in the field of vision.
The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) is offered by the University Graduate School in conjunction with the School of Optometry, this degree programs in vision science is designed primarily for those who wish to devote themselves to teaching and research in the field of vision.
The Combined Degree Program offered by Indiana University's Vision Science Program has a proud tradition of training more than 50 doctoral graduates and nearly 100 master's graduates who have gone on to productive academic or clinical careers. Many have held prestigious leadership positions in academia and national and/or international research organizations. The Indiana University School of Optometry has developed combined degree programs in conjunction with the University Graduate School to allow students to work toward an M.S. simultaneously with the O.D. degree. The combined degree program is designed to attract students interested in careers devoted to the creation of new knowledge in clinical and/or academic optometry. A number of financial support mechanisms are available.
The Vision Science Department of the School of Optometry also offers Undergraduate courses that fill the general education requirements for a Bachelor's degree from Indiana University.
