Hypothyroidism

The patient developed hypothyroidism approximately 13 years ago. This is another autoimmune condition which has been called Hashimoto’s thyroiditis.

She takes a daily tablet of Synthroid to treat the condition.

The combination of Addisons, diabetes and hypothyroidism is termed polyglandular autoimmune syndrome type II or often referred to as Schmidt’s syndrome.
