Case 4: The Case of the Blurry Left Eye

A 79-year-old African-American female presented with a chief complaint of "very blurry in the left eye" for several weeks.

The Clues

  • Hypertension, Type II diabetes mellitus, thyroid disease
  • Treated for primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) for several years
  • BVA 20/30 OD, hand motion at two feet OS
  • Entrance testing unremarkable
  • 2+ nuclear sclerosis OU
  • Appearance of fundi as shown below
