The examination can be taken at any location where the Paraoptometric Certification Program is presented. Individual tests can be taken on each course if desired. If a test is not passed the first time, the course and test may be repeated at a later meeting at no charge. The student can take the examinations immediately following the courses; however, unless the student is a very experienced paraoptometric, it is recommended she or he take the tests at a later date after studying the materials and recommended readings. A student must pass examinations in all subject areas within the level in order to receive a certificate of completion. A student may retake each test one time at no additional charge. Additional retakes are at the regular fee.

Please refer to OPAT's Schedule of Events for dates and locations.
