Chronic Angle Closure Glaucoma Some people will develop what is known as chronic angle closure glaucoma. In this type of glaucoma, the iris root slowly blocks the trabecular meshwork. Chronic angle closure occurs when most of the anterior chamber angle has been closed by a peripheral anterior synechia. Chronic angle closure glaucoma does not have the severe and rapid vision loss that is associated with an acute attack. It is a more gradual and asymptomatic process like that of primary open angle glaucoma. What Is Glaucoma? | Types of Glaucoma | Diagnosing Glaucoma | Treatments | Research & Links | Glaucoma Home
