Indiana University Bloomington

Dear Friend,

I am so excited about the new Optometry Eye Care Center. We have broken ground on a building that will improve the IU School of Optometry for our patients, our faculty, and our students. Our new clinic on Third Street will be a larger, more accessible, and inviting facility for our patients. It will have space for the most advanced diagnostic equipment and best treatment options.

As a research institution, our external funding has increased tenfold in the last eight years. With the clinical practice moving into a stand-alone building, we will have more room in our Atwater Building. That will create space for crucial studies into such areas as macular degeneration, retinal imaging, or how vision can be improved beyond 20/15.

Our students can only benefit from enhancing research and clinical practice. They will continue to learn from increased patient care in our new clinic while benefiting from aiding in innovative laboratory work.

To our friends who supported this clinic's construction, thank you. You are making our vision of continued excellence a reality.
