Bonanno and Candy Fill Associate Dean Roles |
Dr. Joseph Bonanno and Dr. Rowan Candy officially assumed responsibility for two of the IU School of Optometry's associate dean positions on September 1, 2007.

Joseph A. Bonanno, OD, PhD, is serving as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Student Administration. Dr. Bonanno has been a Professor of Optometry with the IU School of Optometry since July 1998. He was the Associate Dean for Research from January 2005 to August 2007. He leads an active research lab at the school focusing on cell and molecular biology, ion and fluid transport properties of the corneal endothelium, and the effects of contact lens wear on corneal physiology. T. Rowan Candy, MCOptom, PhD, filled the Associate Dean for Research position vacated by Dr. Bonanno. Dr. Candy joined the IU School of Optometry faculty in 2000 and is now an Associate Professor. Dr. Candy has served as an instructor for OD students in the school's pediatric and binocular vision clinic. She leads an active research lab studying infant vision--particularly structural and neural limits to infant visual function and activity-dependent processes in visual development.
