Each of the recipients was recognized for these awards at the Optician/Technician Class of 2008 graduation reception on Friday, May 2, at 2:00 pm in the faculty lounge.

  • TECHNICIAN OF THE YEAR AWARD
    Demonstrates overall excellence in all areas as an optometric technician--especially preliminary procedures, dispensing, patient care, and professionalism.
    Recipient: Elyse Turner

  • OPTICIAN OF THE YEAR AWARD
    Demonstrates overall excellence using surfacing and finishing skills in the optical laboratory. Must have Optician's Laboratory Concentration (OLC) designation.
    Recipient: Tessa Williams

  • CONTACT LENS AWARD
    Displays exceptional proficiency in clinical contact lens techniques and procedures.
    Recipient: Lisa Demuth

  • ESSILOR OF AMERICA AWARD OF EXCELLENCE (sponsored by Essilor)
    This award is given in recognition to a second-year Optician/Technician student for excellence in dispensing skills and rapport with patients.
    Recipient: Jeremy Chiddister
