John P. "Jack" Downey
Clinical Assistant Professor of Optometry

OD 1981 (Indiana University)

Dr. Jack Downey received his OD degree from Indiana University in 1981. He was in private practice in Hales Corners, Wisconsin, from 1981 to 1996. He came to the Indianapolis Eye Care Center in 1996 and is the chief of the contact lens service. His teaching duties include seminars related to patient care issues, postgraduation practice, and optometric contract discussions. He has also established practice exams in order to familiarize students with test procedures encountered on National Board exams. Dr. Downey completed work towards a Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in health policy and management from the IU School of Medicine in December 2002.
