Sandra Pickel is the Associate Director of the Optician/Technician Program. She has held this position since 1983. From 1976-1982 she was a lecturer and from 1973-1976 was a teaching staff member in the program. She was a clinic staff member from 1972-1973 in the Atwater Eye Care Center at Indiana University School of Optometry. She graduated in August 1972 with an Associate of Science degree in Optometric Technology at Indiana University School of Optometry. In May of 1983, she completed a Bachelor of General Studies from the Indiana University School of Continuing Studies. She is a certified paraoptometric technician (CPOT) through the American Optometric Association National Council on Paraoptometric Certification and a certified optician (ABOC) through the American Board of Opticianry. From 1987-1989, she was a member of the Council on Optometric Education. Ms. Pickel is a member of the American Optometric Association Paraoptometric Section.
