Currently the liquid crystal array is a bit bulky and is attached by a long cable to a computer.

Nevertheless, it isn't beyond our imagination to suppose a time in the not too distant future when liquid crystal spectacle lenses powered by minature batteries carried in the spectacle frame will be as commonplace as the liquid crystal displays on our wrist-watches, calculators, and laptop computers.
