Eligibility

Indiana University School of Optometry residencies are available to graduates of accredited schools and colleges of optometry. Applicants must have a Doctor of Optometry degree by June 1 of the residency year. Grade point average (GPA) and NBEO examination scores are considered during the application process.

Process

Please apply through the Optometric Residency Matching Service (ORMS) and follow its application guidelines.

In addition to the ORMS application, we ask each candidate for a residency position at Indiana University School of Optometry submit a cover letter, a copy of NBEO scores, and college transcripts (a copy of the official transcript is fine) AND have 3 letters of recommendation sent to:

Interview

All serious applicants are encouraged to arrange a site visit.

Selection Committee

The selection committee is composed of the Residency Program Coordinator, the Director of Residencies, and one designee.

Notification

All candidates will be notified in writing whether they have been accepted or not accepted within one month of the February 1 application deadline.
