The objective of this residency is to enhance the clinical experience and knowledge in primary care optometry with emphasis on the delivery of all aspects of eye care to a wide variety of patients. The resident will receive intensive clinical training in the diagnosis and management of ocular and systemically-related ocular disease in addition to advanced training in cornea and contact lenses, pediatric eye care, and low vision. Rotations will be held at our optometry clinics in Bloomington and Indianapolis, with shorter rotations at the IU Health Center and subspecialty departments of ophthalmology including retina, neuro-ophthalmology, glaucoma, oculoplastics, and refractive surgery. The program will also offer observations in neurology; dermatology; radiology; and ears, nose, and throat specialties to enhance the multidisciplinary experience of the resident. Didactic and clinical teaching are part of this residency as well as participation in the clinics' 24 hour on-call service and the school's case seminars. The resident will submit a publication quality manuscript at the conclusion of the residency.

In order to complete the program and receive the certificate, all of the above requirements must be completed.
