Indiana University School of Optometry
V889 Special Projects

"Research and writing of a paper in a style suitable for publication in a scientific journal."
IU School of Optometry Bulletin, 2001/03, p. 12

Dr. Graeme Wilson, V889 Coordinator

Preface

This manual is intended to provide V889 students and faculty supervisors with information concerning the Special Projects course. This course differs from other courses in the Doctor of Optometry program in not having regularly scheduled class meetings and not being confined to a particular semester of a particular year. Students begin their V889 projects during the third year of the OD program or earlier; and credit for the course is given at the end of the student's Bloomington rotation during the fourth year.

A large number of School of Optometry faculty members assisted in compiling information for this manual. Those who were especially helpful include the previous coordinator Dr. Ted Grosvenor, and Drs. Carolyn Begley, Arthur Bradley, David Goss, Doug Horner, Edwin Marshall, Richard Meetz, and Larry Thibos.
